Products for Immuno-Colocalization

Alomone Labs has developed three innovative product lines for studying protein-protein interaction and/or protein co-localization:

Primary antibodies conjugated to biotin or ATTO-fluorescent dyes: These antibodies can be used in immunohistochemistry (IH) and immunocytochemistry (IC) with same species antibodies.

Antibodies raised in guinea pig: These second species antibodies can be used with any other non-guinea pig second species antibodies in immuno-colocalization studies such as IH and IC.

Biotinylated neurotrophins: These labeled neurotrophins can be used with any antibody to obtain highly specific localization.

Anti-Vesicular GABA Transporter-ATTO-594


Immunohistochemical staining of rat frozen cerebellum sections: Anti-Vesicular GABA Transporter-ATTO-594 antibody (#AGT-005-AR), (1:100). VGAT staining (red) is most intensely expressed in the granule and pyramidal layer.

Anti-Kir4.1 (guinea pig)


Immunohistochemical staining of rat frozen brain sections: Anti-Kir4.1 guinea pig antibody (#AGP-012), (1:300). Kir4.1 staining (green) reveals Kir4.1 clusters in the molecular layer. GFAP staining is shown in red.

Immuno-colocalization of VMAT2 and TRPC3 in rat brain

Immunohistochemical staining of perfusion-fixed frozen rat substancia nigra sections using Anti-Vesicular Monoamine Transporter 2-ATTO-488 antibody (#AMT-006-AG), (1:60), (green) and Anti-TRPC3-ATTO-594 antibody (#ACC-016-AR), (1:60), (red). Ubiquitous colocalization of VMAT2 and TRPC3 in cells of the substantia nigra pars compacta is observed.

New & Noteworthy

Novel GluN2A Receptor Antagonist!


MPX-004 (#M-280) is a synthetic compound that acts as a potent and selective antagonist of GluN2A. It displays an IC50 value of 79 nM in HEK cells.




Alomone Labs MPX-004 inhibits NMDA receptor channels expressed in Xenopus oocytes. 

A. Time course of NR1/NR2A currents, elicited by transient stimulations with 200 µM glutamate and 200 µM glycine every 100 sec, while membrane potential was held at -80 mV. 100 nM MPX-004 (#M-280), applied for 7 min (bar), significantly inhibits current amplitude. Ion Channel Products in Featured Papers

AQP2 Excretion and Expression Decrease during Gentamicin Treatment

AQP2 could be a candidate for detecting kidney collecting duct dysfunction as a result of gentamicin treatment. Immunohistochemical staining of rat kidney sections using Anti-Aquaporin 2 antibody (#AQP-002) showed that AQP2 expression and excretion decrease following gentamicin treatment (Abdeen, A. et al. (2014) Am. J. Physiol. 307, F1227.).
