Mitochondria: The first rechargeable battery

Hello Customer,

Eukaryotes consume oxygen and, in return, generate carbon dioxide while processing metabolic fuels such as glucose. The energy produced-as electrons-is then transported into the mitochondria via a group of (namely Complex I, Complex II, Complex III, Complex IV) electron carrier complexes. The electron transport chain is the pathway that essentially consists of four protein complexes that transport the electrons from reduced molecules to oxygen. BioVision is proud to offer the complete set of Activity Assay Kits to determine the activity of these complexes in isolated mitochondria. Our kits are fast, reliable, specific and ideal when studying cellular respiration processes. Our research tools could be used to study the effect of toxicants, drugs and other environmental conditions on these complexes.
