Catalog #: E2-670

His6-Apg3p
Product Source:

human recombinant

Also known as: His6-Apg3p (Apg3L)

Apg3p is the E2-like enzyme necessary for the covalent conjugation of human Apg8 modifier proteins to lipid phosphatidylethanolamine (PE) and is essential in autophagosomal membrane formation. The Apg8 ubiquitin-like proteins (including GABARAP, GATE-16, MAP-LC3) are first activated by the E1-like activating enzyme Apg7p. Apg7p forms a complex with Apg3p which subsequently forms a glycyl thiolester bond with Apg8 proteins through its active site cysteine (C264). Accession # NP_071933.
