Apoptosis-inducing factor 2 (AIFM2) is an oxidoreductase, which plays a role in mediating a TP53/p53-dependent apoptosis response. AIFM2 is a caspase-independent mitochondrial effector of apoptotic cell death. AIFM2 binds to DNA in a sequence-independent manner, and contributes to genotoxin-induced growth arrest.
