Description

Alpha-fetoprotein binds copper, nickel, fatty acids, bilirubin and serum albumin. Only a small percentage (less than 2%) of the human AFP shows estrogen-binding properties. Dimeric and trimeric forms have been found in addition to the monomeric form.
