Description

ARC (Activity-regulated cytoskeleton-associated protein, Arg3.1) is a neuronal protein enriched in the dendritic postsynaptic density. ARC is required for consolidation of synaptic plasticity and formation of long-term memory. It regulates AMPA receptor homeostasis and endocytosis in response to synaptic activity, and plays a role in the regulation of addictive and anxiety-related behavior.
