Description

Antibody Target :PARP (Cleaved)

Host: Rabbit

Antibody Type: Polyclonal

Isotype: Rabbit IgG

Antibody Form: Affinity Purified Antibody

Immunogen Sequence: Synthetic peptide corresponding to the C-terminus surrounding Asp214 of rat PARP

Accession#: P27008

Gene ID: 3123251

Appearance: Colorless liquid

Concentration: 0.5 mg/ml

Formulation: 100 µg (0.2 mg/ml) affinity purified, polyclonal rabbit anti-cleaved PARP antibody in phosphate-buffered saline (PBS) containing 50% glycerol, 1% BSA, and 0.02% sodium azide.

Purification: Affinity purified

Species Reactivity: rt

Application: WB/IHC

Application & Usage: Western blot analysis (1µg/ml) and immunocytochemistry (10-20 µg/ml). However, the optimal concentrations should be determined individually. The polyclonal anti-cleaved PARP antibody recognizes only the large fragment of PARP (89 kDa) and does not react with the full length PARP.

Storage Temp.: -20 °C

Shipping : gel pack

Shelf Life: 12 months

Handling: The antibody solution should be gently mixed before use.

Brief Background Descriptions: PARP, a 116 kDa nuclear poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase, is a highly conserved nuclear enzyme implicated in DNA repair and in the apoptosis response of cells. This protein can be cleaved by many caspases in vitro and is one of the main cleavage targets of caspase-3 in vivo. The cleavage occurs between ASP214 and Gly 215, which separates PARP’s N-terminal DNA binding domain (24 kDa) from its C-terminal catalytic domain (89 kDa). It has been shown that cleavage of PARP facilitates cellular disassembly and inhibition of PARP cleavage attenuates apoptosis in vitro.
