Application_Details :
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) and Western Blotting (WB). A concentration of 0.1-0.5µg/mL is recommended for WB. Human Protein kinase C alpha has a predicted length of 672 residues and MW of 77 kDa. A concentration of 0.5-1µg/mL is recommended to detect the protein in paraffin embedded tissues. Antigen retrieval by boiling paraffin sections in 10 mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 for 20 minutes is required. Biosensis recommends optimal dilutions/concentrations should be determined by the end user.

Description (Long Description) :
Protein kinase C alpha (PKC-alpha) belongs to the Protein kinase C family of serine- and threonine-specific protein kinases that can be activated by calcium and second messenger diacylglycerol. PKC-alpha is one of at least 12 different types of Protein kinase C identified in humans. PKC-alpha is ubiquitously expressed and has roles in many different cellular processes including cell adhesion, cell transformation, proliferation, differentiation and cell cycle checkpoint.
