Description

Trazodone is a second generation antidepressant which acts predominantly at the 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) receptors in a similar fashion to the anti-depressants buspirone and tandospirone. Trazodone is effective in treating depression and anxiety, and its side effects, particularly anticholinergic and sexual side-effects, are less severe than tricyclic antidepresents.
