Description

Trimethoprim is a bacteriostatic antibiotic mainly used to treat urinary tract infections. It is an inhibitor of dihydrofolate reductase, a key enzyme involved in the synthesis of thymidine. A depletion in thymidine ultimately results in DNA replication failure.
