Description

Zinc finger FYVE domain-containing protein 27 (ZFYVE27) is involved in neuronal intracellular trafficking in the corticospinal tract. ZFYVE27 binds to spastin, the most commonly mutated protein in the autosomal dominant form of hereditary spastic paraplegia (AD-HSP). Mutations in ZFYVE27 have also been found in individuals with (AD-HSP). Spastic paraplegia is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by a slow, gradual, progressive weakness and spasticity of the lower limbs.
